Helsinki four-piece Headphone Jacks are spotlighting Savior, a track from their 2025 album Discipline, and it is available for radio play now. The song runs to 3 minutes 5 seconds and pairs lyrics with something to say with a groove-driven rock arrangement.
The press material describes it as socially aware rock with an irresistible groove and seriously satisfying guitar riffing. It also points to the closing section, where the band are said to unleash a stomping final riff after you think you have heard everything the track has to offer.
Headphone Jacks draw on the heavy melodic riffing of Soundgarden and Black Sabbath, with touches of Faith No More and early Foo Fighters, plus a generous helping of seventies stoner rock and psychedelia. Elsewhere in their catalogue there are tracks like All Them Zombies and The Emperor, and Space Ghost, a riff-heavy trip into seventies-inspired space rock.
A band from Finland putting a message in a heavy rock song and still keeping it fun is a combination I'm happy to back. Their label describes them as exploring different directions without losing their identity, and a catalogue that stretches from stoner riffs to space rock backs that up. Savior is a good place to start if you haven't come across them.
Discipline has 8 tracks. Since joining the Good Stock Records family the band have made their wider catalogue available to radio stations, including earlier releases such as the 2022 single Lucid Dream and The Emperor, a 2026 single that comes with a radio edit. Savior also closes the label's radio spotlights on Discipline, and the band have been working on brand-new material throughout this autumn.
