Quarry – 1975, a new indie rock single with an album to follow in 2027

Thursday 29 October 2026

Quarry is the name of a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, and the new single is called 1975. It comes out on 20 November on the independent label Lowfieye, with a full-length album following in 2027.

The press note describes a relentless, driving pulse and jagged, layered guitar hooks, a mix of alternative grit and melodic catchiness. It says the real engine of the song is the vocal, which gives an intimate indie rock foundation a sense of urgency and anthemic grandeur. The comparisons offered are Fontaines D.C., Gang of Youths, Geese and David Bowie, which is a fairly wide net.

A song named after a year always makes me curious about what happened in it. With a full album promised for 2027 this looks like the first step of something bigger, so I'm glad to back 1975 now and put Quarry on the Audio Addicts radar before the album turns up.

There is also a radio-friendly angle. The single is supplied as a clean edit, with no profanity, so it is safe for daytime play.

The single is out on 20 November via Lowfieye.
